Past conversations could only be found by scrolling the sidebar, and the
agent had no way to look back at earlier chats unless it had written
something into its notes.

Index the content of user and assistant messages in an external-content
FTS5 table (unicode61, diacritics removed), kept current by triggers on
messages and backfilled once for existing databases. Tool output is left
out so fetched pages and command output don't drown the results. Typed
text is always quoted into words and phrases, with the last word as a
prefix, so it can never be an FTS5 syntax error.

  • GET /api/search returns one hit per conversation (best message, match
    count, or a title-only match), most recently active first.
  • The sidebar gets a search box; results show highlighted snippets and
    open #/c//m/, which scrolls to and flashes the message.
  • conversation_search and conversation_read let the agent find and read
    past conversations.
